Venesta supports The British Red Cross’ Ukraine crisis appeal.

Venesta stands with The British Red Cross and is raising funds to make sure that around the clock critical care gets to those who need it most in Ukraine and its bordering countries.

As conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, The British Red Cross have launched a landmark appeal for humanitarian assistance in the country as well as refugee response in neighbouring countries. The humanitarian situation caused by the ongoing conflict is increasingly desperate, with hundreds of thousands of people without food, water, heat or medical care. At least 18 million people, which equates to one-third of Ukraine’s population, will require humanitarian assistance.

We’re calling for the generosity of our staff, customers, suppliers and wider community to help us raise funds for the Ukrainian crisis appeal, so that we can make a difference to Ukrainian people whose lives and futures hang in the balance.

Throughout the year, the Venesta team will be organising and taking part in various fundraising and sponsored events to support the appeal. Venesta will also donation match our grand total in December, to boost the total raised!

How The British Red Cross is helping Ukraine.

At the time of publishing this article, 4,000 Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers have assisted around 300,000 people so far. Since the conflict began, the Ukrainian Red Cross has distributed 400 tonnes of aid which has included food, bedding, blankets, tents, water and hygiene items. Volunteers are also providing first aid across the country and training some 12,000 people to administer first aid care in bomb shelters.

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is working to provide water and repair water infrastructure especially in areas in the east of Ukraine, where water supplies have been disrupted during conflict.

The British Red Cross’ humanitarian aid doesn’t stop at Ukraine, as support is being provided to neighbouring countries that Ukrainians are fleeing to. In these countries, food, medical supplies, clothing and more is being provided to those in need.

How your donations make a difference.

Every pound donated helps keep vulnerable Ukraine people safe. The money raised will provide food, water, medicine, clothing and protection to Ukrainian men, women, children and pets, helping to make a lasting difference to their lives.

Your donation will go a long way to help people who need it most:

• £5 could provide 600 chlorine tablets to ensure that families have access to clean, safe water
• £10 could provide a hygiene kit to a family of five, giving them supplies to stay healthy for a month
• £20 could provide five blankets to families taking shelter
• £100 could provide sleeping mats to 66 people who have been forced from their homes
• £210 could provide a fully equipped first aid kit, including supplies, to a first aider treating the wounded
