Innovative solutions for healthcare washrooms

Take more of the work off site

Pre-plumbed sanitary assemblies move much of the work normally carried out on site into a controlled factory environment.

Vepps Healthcare units are supplied pre-plumbed, sealed and tested, with sanitaryware, brassware and fittings fitted before delivery. Fewer trades are needed on site, and installation can be up to 50% faster than plain panel alternatives.

This can be particularly useful for healthcare refurbishments where the amount of work carried out on site, and the disruption it causes, needs to be carefully managed.

Work with the building

Existing healthcare buildings can bring constraints around space, wall construction and existing services, particularly on refurbishment projects.

Vepps Healthcare can be configured around those conditions, with recessed, boxed-out and between-walls options available alongside sectional wall panelling. The systems are also designed to maintain the integrity of the rear fire and acoustic wall, allowing services and sanitary assemblies to be accommodated without compromising the performance of the wall behind them.

Combine standardisation with flexibility

Offsite manufacture still needs to accommodate the different sanitary requirements found across a healthcare building.

Vepps Hygen is available in more than 120 variations, with different sanitaryware, brassware and fittings available across the Vepps Healthcare range. Assemblies can be configured for applications including clinical wash hand basins and sinks, disposal units, janitorial units, scrub-up troughs, showers, baths and WCs.

This allows repeatable, factory-assembled systems to be used across a project while accommodating the requirements of different rooms and departments.

Design for emergency access

In a healthcare washroom, staff may need to gain access to a cubicle quickly if someone becomes unwell or falls behind the door.

Venesta's System M cubicle range includes patented emergency access, allowing the door to be opened outwards in an emergency while retaining a full-height door and the privacy it provides during normal use.

Reduce waste on site and in manufacture

Sustainability in healthcare specification goes beyond the products used in the finished space. How those products are manufactured, how much waste they generate and what arrives on site all contribute to their environmental impact.

Vepps Healthcare units arrive pre-plumbed and tested, with sanitaryware, brassware and fittings supplied as a complete assembly. This uses 90% less packaging compared with ordering individual components from different suppliers.

Venesta has also invested in reducing waste and generating renewable energy at its UK manufacturing site. Board waste is diverted from landfill and used by the on-site biomass boiler to generate heat. Since 2020, the system has converted 3.6 million kg of waste into useful energy, generated 11,435 MWh of renewable heat energy and eliminated 2,093 tonnes of CO₂e emissions. 

Venesta operates an ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System, and all panels are sourced from FSC® or PEFC-certified suppliers.
