Selby High School

Selby High School is a popular co-educational secondary school in North Yorkshire in the catchment area of Selby and the surrounding districts. Selby High opened its doors in 1908 as an all-girls school but introduced mixed-sex education in 1979 due to popular demand. In 2005 Selby High School was awarded a specialist status in Performing and Visual Arts.

The school's main goal is the success of all pupils through encouragement, teamwork, mutual respect and an enjoyment of learning. Their ethos is to create an environment where pupils understand that by supporting each other and working together they will be able to achieve more.

To fulfill Selby High’s requirements, Fusion was selected for its contemporary, discreet, slimline fittings that could be ergonomically fitted to maximise space within the new washrooms. Fusion’s ultra-strong metal frame, combined with slimline pilasters that fix to the floor add rigidity to the cubicles (with the option of full height privacy doors) made this cubicle range the perfect choice.

The school anticipated the new PE block to be a busy part of the school and therefore specified their toilet, shower and changing cubicles in Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) as it's designed to meet the most stringent specifications of durability and hygiene.

SGL was also a great choice for use in the shower block because it’s completely impervious to water and will stand the test of time with years of use.

Using Fusion cubicles meant that Selby High School was able to achieve the durable and robust washroom area they required.  As well as this, the design flexibility and colour choices available meant that they could choose a bold yet sophisticated design that reflected their school colours.

To complement the Venesta toilet cubicles, Selby High School also specified Frameduct for their new student washroom and changing facilities. Frameduct is a metal-framed panelling system that offered Selby High complete flexibility as they could select their own sanitaryware. It was made to measure and featured a click-fix mechanism so it was quick and easy to install.

Not stopping there, the school also specified complementing SGL vanity units. The most demanding of washroom environments need hard-working solutions to match. SGL is built to last and is totally impervious to water, meaning it can withstand regular and thorough cleaning.
