Adderlane Academy Nursery

Adderlane Academy is one of sixteen schools within the WISE Academies Trust located in Northumberland. Guided by the message “Inspire Success and Excellence,” the academy is committed to building a strong foundation for every child.

Through a supportive and aspirational learning environment, Adderlane Academy prepares pupils for the next stage of their education and equips them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the wider world.

To maintain this standard, the school identified the need to upgrade its washrooms, ensuring facilities are modern and hygienic for pupils’ wellbeing and comfort.

Our much-loved Lollipop cubicles were specified for their fun, inviting design that incorporates lowered doors and partitions to allow adult supervision where required. With the brief highlighting the importance of safety, Lollipop’s specially designed safety hinges and emergency release indicator bolts made this a great fit for Adderlane’s nursery.

For the cubicles, the client opted for the cubicle system to be supplied in High Pressure Laminate (HPL) a budget-friendly choice for high-use environments due to its durability and resistance to heat, scratches, and impact. These were specified in a soft colour palette using our laminate colours 'Peony', 'Duck Egg', and ‘Olive’. These gentle tones have been shown to create a calm, reassuring environment where children feel comfortable. The partitions were supplied in our ‘Cloud’ laminate finish to maintain a consistent, calming feel throughout the washroom.

The client specified our Vepps pre-plumbed panelling system for behind the cubicles. Vepps offers faster onsite installation thanks to the sanitaryware being pre-plumbed and tested at our manufacturing facility before being delivered to the school. The panels were supplied in our ‘Soft Oak’ and ‘Cloud’ HPL laminate to keep the space feeling light and welcoming.

To complete the refurbishment, we supplied Solid Surface washtroughs, designed as a durable and hygienic solution for the early-years washroom. Specified at a reduced height for younger children, the washtroughs feature optional under panels that conceal plumbing and prevent access to students for additional safety. Unlike tabletop vanity units, the washtroughs design prevents build-up of surface water and prevents warping, helping keep the space clean and extending the life of the washroom. These were supplied in ‘Peony’ and ‘Soft Oak’ to match the cubicles and Vepps panelling.
