Waitrose Admiral Park

As part of the refurbishment at the Admiral Park Waitrose store in Guernsey, new staff toilet facilities were required. The aim was to create a clean, practical and durable washroom environment suitable for daily staff use.

The brief focused on delivering a robust handwashing area with multiple basins, designed to support hygiene standards while remaining easy to maintain.

The works for Waitrose were carried out by Breton Construction Limited, with Venesta supplying the vanity units and panelling.

Venesta supplied a recessed K3 vanity unit in High Pressure Laminate (HPL), with five fully inset basins. This allows several users to wash their hands at once, helping the space function smoothly during busy periods. The design keeps the front clean and uncluttered.

HPL is well suited to dry areas with more intense use. It is heat, scratch and impact resistant. The panels are manufactured from moisture-resistant chipboard faced with High Pressure Laminate. This creates a hardwearing
surface that performs well under daily cleaning.

Each basin was fitted with Avon 21 self-closing mixers to help control water usage and reduce unnecessary waste, supporting efficient operation in a staff facility. Rapiduct HPL panelling was also specified for urinals. Rapiduct encloses service areas while allowing access when required. The panels offer the same durable, impact-resistant finish as the vanity units, creating a coordinated and practical solution across the washroom.

Finished in the colour Shadow, the panelling provides a neutral grey backdrop that works well within a retail back-of-house setting. It also helps to minimise the visible effects of scuffs and wear over time.

Together, the HPL vanity unit and Rapiduct panelling deliver a practical, long-lasting washroom solution that balances hygiene, durability and ease of maintenance for staff use at Waitrose Admiral Park.
