The Project.

Founded in 1881 by the Canon of Canterbury Cathedral, Francis Holland School is a leading independent School for girls age 4-18. With an initial intake of just 13, the school has since expanded into a popular school offering exciting and challenging prospects to its 450 young women.

The balanced curriculum that the Francis Holland School offers focuses on education and extra-curricular activities in equal measure; former school students include Dame Joan Collins and Actress and Fashion Designer Sienna Miller, who have both gone on to accomplish great success since their education at the school.

The Challenge.

Francis Holland School has a diverse spectrum of students to cater for. The students participate in an extensive range of activities as part of their curriculum including swimming and canoeing so their new washroom refurbishment needed to be suitable for a variety of different environmental factors. In addition to this, the school requested a seperate disabled access washroom and bright colour schemes within each of the washroom areas to create a welcoming and stimulating environment.

The Solution.

With these things in mind, Award cubicles were specified for both washroom renovations at the school. Award’s suitability in both in wet and dry environments made it the perfect cubicle range for the school given that the washrooms needed to be able to withstand the wet conditions and heavy usage. Award is available in 36 unique and inspiring colours meaning that the school could create two unique looking washroom designs.

Oxford Blue doors and Iceberg pilasters were chosen for the larger washroom area; this was paired with a Solid Surface vanity unit in Vermont with Oxford blue under panels. For the second washroom area, a larger cubicle was specified to allow for disabled access. The school needed the area to be as user friendly as possible, so a range of disability facilities were fitted inside the washroom and a personal basin was provided inside the disabled cubicle. Jive was chosen for the doors with Iceberg Pilasters; the combination brightened up the room making it an extremely welcoming environment to enter.

The Francis Holland School was delighted with both of their washroom installations. By specifying Venesta washroom products, the school were able to realise their vision of a washroom space that was not only aesthetically pleasing but would also stand the test of time. Both washroom refurbishments created bright, unique and welcoming areas and have been well received by the pupils and staff alike.

Our six stage service plan meant that the School received unrivalled support from the Venesta team. We have always listened to our customers and encouraged feedback, in terms of washroom design, materials used and value for money and are delighted to have collaborated with The Francis Holland School.
