Sowwah Square is the name of a newly constructed district in Abu Dhabi, located in the centre of the island of Sowwah. Gensler created a master plan and comprehensive design guidelines for this 122 hectare development. To convey its status as a financial centre, Abu Dhabi sought new standards in the project’s planning and architectural design.
The Square was developed into a new business district with the new stock exchange Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), surrounded by four office towers and a hotel. Venesta were asked to design the washroom facilities for these buildings and install some luxury fittings to reflect the sophisticated yet contemporary feel of the five buildings that have come to be known as ‘Abu Dhabi’s city of tomorrow’.
Steven Nilles, a partner at Goettsch Partnersm, the company that designed Sowwah Square, states that they were “encouraged to assess the present and design for the future", and Venesta wanted to echo this notion within their washroom designs for the company.
The client chose the Venesta Coolite range, a breath-taking glass cubicle installation which is refreshing, light and spacious. Coolite boasts elegant stainless steel fittings - a simple but very attractive indicator bolt faceplate, complementary and contemporary pedestal leg and headrail.
