Care of the environment is a long-standing business commitment for Venesta. Over the years, we've constantly improved and refined our environmental management systems in-line with international standards.
In fact, we're proud to say, we're now accredited with ISO 14001.

Responsibly sourced materials
FSC®
To give our customers peace of mind, we make it our business to source the most environmentally friendly materials available. So, we ensure all of our real wood veneer products are Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified; and as a supplier we have our own FSC certification too. This gives our customers a cast iron guarantee that our real wood materials are managed and sourced from only the most reliable and environmentally conscious suppliers.
Managing our waste
Targeting zero waste
Waste is an inevitable part of any manufacturing process, but there are ways to ensure it doesn't become an environmental headache. For example, at Venesta, we've set ourselves the challenge of reducing waste in all areas, not only in manufacturing but also in our administration processes.
We've significantly invested in a programme of new recycling systems and equipment for all production waste. So far, this has allowed us to reduce our waste to landfill by 50%. That's not all. We're currently planning to extend our recycling and waste burning equipment which will mean we can achieve our objective of zero waste to landfill by 2014.
Managing our energy
Eliminating landfill
The cost of energy and the issue of carbon emissions are high on our environmental agenda and we're continually searching for ways to reduce energy consumption across all of our facilities. For example, our waste burning equipment diverts the heat it generates into fuel for our manufacturing site. This means we've been able to replace our conventional gas-fired heating systems, significantly reducing our heating usage and carbon emissions.
Reducing our travel
Decreasing carbon emissions
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our carbon footprint, we've undertaken to reduce employees' travelling time. All staff are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible and we've installed video conferencing facilities on all of our sites to allow meetings to be held without the need for travel.
