As part of an ambitious project designed to modernise obstetrics and gynaecology care in Wales, the country's University Hospital has opened a brand new, state-of-the-art, nine bed midwifery building.

This £16 million scheme is set to transform services for pregnant women, offering three birthing pools and six home-from-home birthing rooms as well as a consultant-led unit for more complex births. It will also provide new facilities for IVF Wales, Gynaecology, Fetal Medicine, Antenatal Clinic and a Maternity Assessment Unit.
