Lyons Hall Primary School in Essex is recognised as an "Outstanding School" by Ofsted. Part of the Learning Pathways Academy Trust, Lyons Hall is a popular choice for local children and, because of this, is becoming well over-subscribed. So, to meet the need for extra pupil places, a new 7-classbase teaching block was commissioned.

The Challenge

Laurie Wood Associates were chosen to undertake the development. Part of the first phase incorporated new washrooms for the early years' pupils and also washrooms for general use. For the project Laurie Wood Associates needed to source a supplier with an extensive product range and a can-do attitude.

Due to the breadth of product range, flexible service and a good past working relationship, Venesta were selected to provide the new washrooms for the school's pupils and staff.

Lollipop cubicles are designed specifically to meet the needs of young children. The range offers a fun design that will encourage children to use the toilet when needed, a key consideration for their physical and mental well-being in those early school years. Aside from this, Lollipop cubicles also offer great safety features such as anti-finger trap hinges and a magnetic catch option instead of a lock. We know that supervision of children in the washroom is also a priority so, with this in mind, Lollipop offers shaped doors and a free standing design meaning there is no need for a head rail.

Lyons Hall Primary School now has school washrooms that children want to use and look after for years to come, and ones which staff can be proud of should their visitors need to use their facilities too.
